On June 18, 2011 Hung and Stephen Lee celebrated their new marriage with a very traditional Chinese wedding with 300 of their closest family and friends!
The venue, Joy Palace is a Chinese Seafood Restaurant located at 6030 M.L. King Jr. Way S in Seattle. The reception began with guests arriving to classical music and cocktails as they signed in, found their seating assignments and each had their pictures taken with the bride and groom by Photographer, Saut. Hung and Stephen were dressed spectacularly – Hung’s dress was amazingly beautiful, especially on her!
Once the guests took their seats the entire entourage of Ten total members of the Bridal Party were grandly entranced to the head table to the instrumental version of “Just Can’t Get Enough” by the Black Eyed Peas!
Introductions of the Bride and Groom’s family took place followed by the beginning of a traditional 10 course meal. During the meal, there were performances by Stephen’s Nieces and Nephews and other family members as well as a few really fun games, which is a Chinese wedding tradition I’m known for pulling off at all types of weddings!
Stephen even sang “A Whole New World” to his new wife because apparently there’s a story there about their proposal. It was very touching and cute.
Although there were quite a few agenda changes and additions during the evening, everything went quite smoothly and since the “three words to describe the atmosphere you want to create” that I ask each couple to tell me before we plan the itinerary were: Control, Calm, Relaxing – I’m pretty sure we were right on target!
In between meal courses the couple visited each table followed by the photographer where their guests toasted them with Cognac for luck and happiness. Once they had gone to every table attention was focused to the head table where the bridal party then gave their toasts.
We did the cake cutting, first dance, bouquet and garter toss and then everyone made their way to the dance floor to party until midnight. I had a great time being part of this special couple’s special day and honored that they trusted me and chose me to perform for them. Thank you Stephen and Hung!!

Mari was an awesome DJ. I received numerous compliments on DJ Mari that night. She totally set the mood of my wedding and was very flexible in terms of changes to my agenda that evening. She was able to manage a crowd of over 300 guests at a traditional Chinese wedding that night by herself without any assistance. The money spent was well worth it. I highly recommend her to DJ at your next event. Thanks Mari!
