Is Online Dating A Necessary Evil in 2018? Thankfully, I’m currently in a healthy relationship with a beautiful woman that’s very loving and understanding. And, yes, I still have L.D.D. (Los Don’t Date)! So if I wasn’t with my girl, would I wade into the murky waters of the Seattle dating scene? While the question is simply, it’s not simply answered by me.
The last girl I met for a date was introduced to me by a friend who was attempting to help me out. The girl before her? Yep, same bro that helped me. She ended up ghosting me, consequently on the business end of my bro’s wrath.
The last relationship I had was one that I found on #Tinder. That was a truly I-would’ve-never-met-her-elsewhere, organic development of a relationship. It was years, yes years, of swiping left and right like an online catalog of eligible girls. At the time, Tinder was the boss of dating websites / applications, but mostly known for the “hook up app”. eHarmony, Plenty of Fish, and Match had no answers for what Tinder was accomplishing. I wasn’t on Tinder for hit-it-and-quit-it intentions. My dating DNA isn’t like that, and even if it wasn’t wired like that … I’m terrible at that (i.e. one-night stands)
Is Online Dating a Necessary Evil?
It’s only needed if you wanna meet more than people in your comparatively small circle of influence. I’m old-fashioned so after my divorce and my disastrous start on POF, I reverted to my antiqued methods. Mostly, bars, clubs, and booze for years. Is Online Dating A Necessary Evil? Yes, if I wanted out of the tailspin I was in.
Furthermore, I dug up some recent statistics about online dating.
Is it all that bad?
Not really, I say.
Why else would a large portion of the United States participate in it? And online dating is not just for desperate and lonely, either! It’s generally the starting point for dating beyond college, and work places.
Is Online Dating a Necessary Evil? Pretty much, y’all. So if I were no longer dating the woman I’m with, and recovered from L.D.D., the dating app I would chose (currently) is Bumble. Bumble is a location-based social and dating application which facilitates communication between interested users.
My bro broke it down on the dating aspect of the app. You swipe right or left, just like Tinder, except if you’re a match then the woman must contact you within 24-hours or the match up disappears. If she does message you, and then you don’t reply within 24 hours … again, the match disappears. I love it! It honors that sense of urgency for budding relationships.
Is Online Dating a Necessary Evil? My answer? Yes, if you wanna date in the Seattle area. No, if you wanna binge watch the newest Netflix Original Content Series and not worry about that mess. What’s your color commentary on online dating, Spaceship Earth? Comment below as usual.
Until next time, be good like you should and if you can’t be good, be good at what you do!
