This New Year with A Amore’ Events & Entertainment, LLC
Keeping up with the world of social media is tough even when you’re a “not so new” Solopreneur. Don’t believe it? Look at the date of my last post!
Amore’ Events has been my baby for over 20 years. I’m blessed to be able to say that my Event business has had a very long run. When we started out the DJ Entertainment world was made up of mainly men. I learned how to entertain audiences at weddings, corporate events and private parties and kept upping my game.
In the late 90’s we added new Event Planning assistance since clients requested help. Back then the internet was a new thing so Pinterest wasn’t available to DIY’ers. Around that same time I became a new wedding officiant to be sure I could help my clients in a pinch.
Technology was coming and I was learning all about HTML so I could build my website since little did we know paper brochures became websites, yellow pages became Google and the telephone became Facebook! 1999 was a busy year of parties and celebrations ringing in Y2K. Each new year brought new tech for me to discover and master.
It’s awesome for a tech geek like me to play with the newest DJ controllers, go from cassettes to mini disc to CD to DVD to mp3! Speakers went from having to connect to amplifiers to having them built in to being able to send the audio wirelessly from my laptop to the speaker in another room!
Growing up my grandpa was a photographer and worked for a reprographics firm now owned by Boeing. I got my first camera in second grade learned to develop film in junior high. My grandpa mentored my love for photography which progressed into videography in the 70’s. He never lived to see a DSLR nor the camcorder but he would have loved it! He lugged around a 50lb JVC to video doc weddings, baseball games and celebratory moments in people’s lives. I still have all the 8mm film he took along with the Bell-Howell projector to watch them on.
Ahhh, the good times, back to this decade! Last year we added Photo Booth services to our arsenal. Not that there weren’t plenty already but my interest in tech and imaging was piqued. I designed and built our 1st prototype which was used long enough to realize it was too heavy to carry around. We progressed into a lighter version soon after. NOW we have another upgrade both in build and tech capabilities and are super excited for our upcoming events.
Note all my talk about Tech advances…I have been creating custom event apps for clients for almost two years now, I create highlight videos for other businesses and private sector, I am the in-house graphics and video person here at A Amore’ Events, I still DJ all year and program the Photo Booth graphics and activations which is why I chose Solopreneur vs. Entrepeneur as my hat.
All of these things I love doing on a daily basis keep me busy and creative but I have a hard time keeping up with blogging and social media relationships.
As we unveil our minimalist “accessibility ready” website we also introduce our
new “After Hours Lounge” – authored by not only myself but…drumroll…Carlos!
Carlos is our already fabulous MC/DJ go to but for those of you who have ever read his C notes you know he’s got great views on life and the world around us.
I’m looking forward to reading ‘Los insights and humor. You can also now catch us live on Periscope if you’re lucky. We plan on showing you our world from our view!
Never fear our live broadcasts will be saved to our @seattledjdotcom twitter feed found at the foot of our site. Follow us and we’ll follow you!
