With the dawn of LED dj lights fixtures comes more possibilities and “greener” events.
The great part about them is that they use less energy and they don’t get as hot as the old style light bulbs which makes them safer to use around fabric. Using less energy means they can be used with battery power for spaces with limited plug in receptacles or outdoors.
The old style dj lights meant we had to use colored “gels” which was costly and limited color choices. With LED par cans and Up Lights you can choose any combination of RGB (red, green, blue) as well as control the intensity of light. Other possibilities are setting the lights to a DMX controller which can be programmed to change colors intermittently or to the beat of the music.

We custom ordered a chinese “Double Happiness” symbol projected onto the wall behind the head table for our client at the W Hotel. (see the pictures in the gallery above). The photo to the right shows examples of stock gobos with different colored gels projected onto the floor.
