Summer 2016 is upon us and there are parties being planned (hopefully in good weather) to celebrate new beginnings (weddings) and transitions from endings (graduations, retirements, bar mitzvahs). There are also the yearly celebrations of company picnics and reunions that many look forward to.
As entertainment suppliers we get to be part of so many of these Summer 2016 celebrations and events.
The sun is (mostly) out in the Seattle area which brings cheer after the cloudy, rainy winter. We’re seeing that Summer 2016 celebrations are looking for relaxed, cheery and fun themes like luau bbq, DJ dance party and of course Photo booth entertainment where the “sky’s the limit”.
We look forward to outdoor wedding ceremonies in backyards, on beaches or mountains and beautiful sunlit wedding venues as a great change from the winter dark decor. We can’t wait for the summer 2016 picnic games in the parks and the waterfront view venues that boast beautiful 10pm sunsets.
It’s so fun to see all the Prom attendees dressed to the nines, dancing the night away and capturing their memories posing with props at the photo booth. Walking through grass without getting muddy shoes is a joy!
It’s that time of year for outdoor school carnivals as kids say goodbye to another school year. Some kids will be heading out to summer camp to make new friends and reconnect with the one’s they made last year.
On a personal level I look forward to the outdoor concerts at various venues and outdoor movies at Marymoor park I could enjoy when I’m not entertaining someone else’s celebration. I look forward to hikes and bike rides in the sunshine but most of all I look forward to hanging outside in our backyard, “steakaroke” nights; grilling steaks with friends and family and setting up the karaoke system as we all sing along.
Summer 2016 is also a great time to visit the beautiful wineries we have an abundance of here in the Pacific Northwest. The coastal beaches become a magnet for relaxing day trips or destination events that I love being able to work. I love it when we get to travel across the sound on a ferry to Port Townsend or Port Angeles but even more awesome is the San Juan Islands where many people host weddings, reunions and retreats – we love grabbing the photo booth and/or DJ equipment to entertain at these venues!
