I’ll attempt to be brief … My bedroom closet needs to be organized, specifically my shoes. I thought, “Does Anyone Spring Clean Anymore?”
My gym shoes are done like dinner: the sole is no longer bouncy, holes in the sides, dirty and smelly to boot. I didn’t want to simply buy new shoes to add to the hot mess that’s in my closet. Since it’s spring time … I decided to do some organizing and cleaning.
Does Anyone Spring Clean Anymore?
Bear with me on this tangent but I promise I’ll get to the point and tie this altogether. The other day I noticed that my customized ortho shoe inserts were not providing the support it was once doing. So I made an appointment with my doctor to evaluate them – we concluded that they are used up. I wasn’t surprised as I’m brutal on my equipment, and on my feet walking around a warehouse 40+ hours a week.

We ordered new ortho inserts with a more durable surface.
I mentioned to him once I was done there I was buying new running / gym shoes, and he also asked, does anyone actually clean during spring?
I quipped, just me. I promptly drove to my favorite shoe store: Brooks Outlet in Bothell. After several suggestions, the sales associate (forgot her name) and I agreed on one size bigger than my foot – 12.5 to accommodate my insert as well as my battleship sized feet.
With brand new running shoes, the shoe insert order on it’s way, I returned home. I opened my closet doors with the intention of removing every shoe that wouldn’t be able to accommodate the inserts. Which was basically all of them. Does Anyone Spring Clean Anymore? I certainly did! I kept a pair of dress shoes, and hiking boots. I donated the lot to Tri Valley Food & Goods Rescue, along with a dresser drawer organizer and an ugly sweater for an Ugly Sweater Party, because my girlfriend is the Team Director. Gotta score points with the girl when you can!
So am I truly the only one to clean after winter? Does Anyone Spring Clean Anymore? I doubt it. Thanks for your time reading, until next time.
Be good like you should and if you can’t be good, be good at what you do!
