I found this interesting blog called “The Downside of Pressure” by newly relocated Seattle Wedding Photographer Mhari Scott. The Downside of Pressure » mhariscottphotography.com.
The jist of the article is how so many people in the Seattle area will book a photographer for their Seattle Wedding because they feel pressured to sign a contract right away. This type of thing happens in every industry but is so sad because a Wedding is the most personal event one can have.
I find that with the internet so prevalent in everyone’s lives and the fact that people are so busy they tend to rely too much on impersonal contact via email and websites when they should really take the time to meet and get to know the people that will be spending the most important day of their lives with them.
Granted, there are many wonderful vendors available out there but just as each couple is unique so is each vendor. I find that when I can meet with clients face to face and learn what they want their event to feel like and what emotions they want to evoke in their guests I can offer so much more than I can via simple email. I enjoy feeling connected to my clients as people and not simply a “booked date”. I was glad to read that this photographer feels the same way. I have been in this industry for over 17 years and there’s a reason I’m still here.
I hope when you are shopping for a Seattle Wedding DJ, photographer, caterer or any other personal service that you will remember that it’s a “person” that makes the difference above all else. Don’t let the pressure make your decision. If you are meant to utilize a specific service for your event the likelihood is that they will still be available for you a week from now. If not then maybe you are better off with someone else.
Here at A Amore’ Events along with other quality service providers we don’t believe we need to rush you into a decision. We want you to shop around. If you’re only concerned with the bottom line you will get what you pay for. If you truly want a fabulous event pick your vendors carefully and make sure there is a personal connection when doing so.
